Waldzenia ([{Waltch]]: Valthzenjia), officially known as the Waltch Vanguard Union

Geography[edit | edit source]

Climate[edit | edit source]

Roughly half of Waldzenia is classified as hot-summer humid continental (Köppen Dfa), becoming gradually colder the farther north one goes, transitioning to a warm-summer humid continental climate (Köppen Dfb) and finally a subarctic (Köppen Dfc)in the far north.

Due to ocean influence, the coast of Waldzenia tends to be quite mild throughout the year, but this rapidly deteriorates further inland. The far northeast can swing between extremes of -30°C and +30°C between winter and summer. In particular, the eastern prairies are frequently subject to bitter colds during the winter that swing down from the far north.

Economy[edit | edit source]

The Waltch economy revolves around the extraction and refining of major resources such as copper, natural gas, and lumber, as well as manufacturing relevant to those resources (most notably computer components, semiconductors, paper, and furniture). Waldzenia is also known for its agriculture, namely dairy and corn, and fruits such as cherries, cranberries, and apples; it follows that food processing is also a major part of the Waltch manufacturing industry. Tourism also makes up a significant portion of the economy.
