The Vira System, named differently throughout Viranos, is the gravitationally bound system of the star of Vira and the objects that orbit it, of which the largest are the eight (possibly nine) planets, with the remainder being smaller objects such as asteroids in two asteroid belts.
Astronomical objects[edit | edit source]
Vira[edit | edit source]
Vira is the star at the center of the eponymous star system. It is a nearly-perfect sphere of hot plasma, with internal convective motion that generates a magnetic field via dynamo effect. A V-type main-sequence star based on its spectral class, it is commonly though somewhat innacurarely referred to as a "yellow dwarf" (its light is closer to white than yellow). As the single most important source of energy for life on Viranos, it has served a significant cultural and spiritual role throughout the history of Viranosian civilization, and is even worshipped as a deity by some modern traditions [see: Zanthist Church.]
Thanara[edit | edit source]
Dendrrah[edit | edit source]
Viranos[edit | edit source]
The only planet in the Vira System that is both confirmed to be habitable and inhabited and the birthplace of sentient life in the system, Viranos is a home to about 2,5 billion sentient inhabitants of various races and various origins (including, theoretically, extra-Viran origins as well).

Lexuriga[edit | edit source]
The 9th planet of the system situated after the 2nd Asteroid Belt, its existense is only theorized by observation of planetary movements. It is thought to be a massive gas giant.
