Creating A Nation Page[edit source]

1) On the front, utilize the input field with the big "Create Page" button beside it.

2) Enter the simple name of your nation. That is, "America", not "The United States of America". Do not use Hearts of Iron-style names like "Centralist Australia" - it'd just be "Australia".

3) Copy-paste the following infobox into your page and fill it out to the best of your ability. It's not too difficult to puzzle your way through it if you're not completely brain dead.

{{Infobox country

Adding Your Nation to The List[edit source]

Go to the | list of countries and fill in your information; take care to make sure your row is in the alphabetically correct spot.

Be sure to leave out articles in your long name (eg., "Empire of Niflasitha", not "The Empire of Niflasitha"). Use the short version of the colloquial name for the short name as well - "Chrystia", not "Centralist Chrystia". Your area can be found by taking the number of (land) pixels in your nation and multiplying them by 21.74; this is your land area in square kilometers.

Next, in order to get the neat "flag the a link to your nation article next to it" thing (easily), you need to make two templates.

First, you need to choose a three-letter identifying code for your nation, which must be unique. Usually this is down with three letters in your colloquial name - eg, NAYanu, TZOnaxiqal; if your code is already taken, get creative and use different letters in the name - NYU, TQL.

Then, create a new page called "Template:AAA", replacing "AAA" in the name with your three-letter code. If you actually created a page called "Template:AAA", I applaud you, you absolute gibbon - go fix it. On this new page, copy-paste the following:

{{flag|Nation}}

Replace the word "Nation" with your short name, preferably the exact same as the title of your main nation article - Tzonaxiqal, Nayanu, etc. Now, save the page. There should be a red link there now reading "Template:Country data Nation", with your short name there instead of nation. Click it to create a new page, and copy-paste the following onto it:

{{ {{{1<noinclude>|country showdata</noinclude>}}}
| alias = Nation
| flag alias = Flag.png
| countryname = {{{countryname|Nation}}}
| size = {{{size|}}}
| name = {{{name|}}}
| altlink = {{{altlink|}}}
| variant = {{{variant|}}}
</noinclude>
}}

Now, if you're not brain dead, this shouldn't be too hard to parse. Replace "Nation" on the "alias" line with the short name of your nation.

Next, upload a flag (there's a link to do so on the left side of the page; if you can't figure it out, I don't think there's much hope for you) with a simple, unambiguous name like "TzonaxiqalFlag" or "Tzonaxiqal_National_Flag_1". Put that exact file name, with the file extension, in the "flag alias" line where "Flag.png" is.

Finally, on the "countryname" line, replace "Nation" with the exact name of your main nation article.

There's other stuff there, I know. Other cool stuff can be done with this template, but this is all you need for now. Save the page.

Now, go back to the | list of countries and, under Template:Country data Nation (replacing Nation with your short name) - congratulations, if you did everything right, it looks nice. If it doesn't work, go back through the instructions. If you absolutely can't figure it out, bug an acolyte.

Sidenote, you can also use Template:AAA (with your nation code) to make an instant link-with-flag. This is especially useful in infoboxes.
